Hi! I love Seattle and have lived in - Vancouver B.C., (yes - I'm Canadian!), Bozeman, MT., Matsuyama, Japan and Orcas Island. I am part of a great book club made up of a lot of teachers. I have been volunteering for Rain City Rock Camp for 10 years. I have a bass guitar, guitar and a full drum kit at my house. Sooner or later I'm planning on getting comfortable at each of those instruments. I like to do crafts, work in my garden and read books. This is my 29th year in the Seattle School district. I worked at Viewlands School for 16 years as an office assistant, 4.5 years at Broadview as an office assistant, .5 years as a substitute teacher and am in my ninth year of teaching kindergarten. I am proud to let people know that I graduated after my own children at age 51 with a BA in teaching and a special education endorsement. I completed my National Board certification just last year.
I have two grown children. Jack is 36, a mechanical engineer, married to Kathleen. She is also a mechanical engineer. Jack is an HVAC specialist and Kathleen works for the FAA/Airbus. They live in Seattle. Aya is 34 and is married to Britta. Aya used to work with non-profits but doesn't need to work right now because her wife Britta is a successful television writer and author of a young adult novel - Ship It. They live in Los Angeles. My husband John works for PEMCO and has published six books of poetry. His most recent is a collaboration between him and our nephew Jordan.
