English Learners Information

Broadview-Thomson also has a large number of English Learners. These students come from a variety of countries from all over the world. Currently there are 140 students enrolled in our ELL program and our students speak 32 different languages. 

We have 2 full time and one part time EL teacher, 2 Spanish speaking instructional assistants, 1 part-time Somali instructional assistant, and 1 part-time Amharic/Tigrigna instructional assistant.

Much like the special education program, the EL students spend the majority of their day with their same age peers. Throughout the day, the students may be pulled into a small group for additional language practice with an instructional assistant or with an EL teacher.
