BT Elementary School to go remote Fri. Jan. 14th
Summary: all General Education Preschool – 5th Grade classrooms will begin learning remotely Friday, January 14, 2022 through Friday, January 21, 2022.
Dear Broadview-Thomson PreK-8 Families,
Due to confirmed COVID-19 in our school community and high student and staff absences, all General Education Preschool – 5th Grade classrooms will begin learning remotely Friday, January 14, 2022 through Friday, January 21, 2022. Students will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 24, 2022. Please remember that Monday, January 17th is a holiday and there is no school.
Elementary will start at 9:55 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Middle School classes will continue in the building; we will continue to closely monitor any concerns with the spread of COVID-19.
Students in the Distinct, Access, and Developmental Preschool Special Education programs will also continue to be supported in the building.
We know that having to quarantine your student at home may be challenging. While we know this is not easy, keeping your child home plays an essential role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting the school community. Thank you for your continued partnership.
How will your child’s learning be supported during the remote learning?
We are committed to providing high-quality learning, no matter the circumstances.
- For schools that transition to 100% remote, teachers and specialists (e.g., music, art, physical education) will provide a live broadcast of classroom lessons using Teams.
- Your child will attend class virtually at the regular class time except for Friday, January 14th.
Teachers and specialists (e.g., music, art, physical education) may also utilize Seesaw or Schoology to facilitate two-way online communication, post recordings of lessons or assignments, assessments, or additional resources.
If you have questions about your child’s learning, please communicate directly with their teacher. Classroom teachers are expected to respond to all parent/guardian and student questions within two business days when possible.
If your child has an IEP or 504, please consult with your IEP case manager or 504 coordinator for additional supports or accommodations during this time.
Meeting links for live instruction:
The Teams meeting links will be shared by your child’s teacher and will be on Seesaw (PreK-2nd grade) or on Schoology (3rd-5th grades).
