    Smarter Balanced Testing Information

In the 2014-15 school year, Washington state moved to Smarter Balanced assessments for students in grades 3-8 and 11 to measure proficiency in academic standards for English language arts and math.

The state also requires 10th graders to take the 11th-grade ELA portion of the assessment for graduation.

    Practice Tests

Practice tests are available for any tested grade or subject. These tests provide a simulated test experience with questions and tasks similar to what students will see on the assessment.

Training tests are designed to familiarize students with the SmarterBalanced test environment and technology, as well as the different item types they will see. Each brief training test provides an example of each item type.

You can find practice & training tests on the SBAC website.
